The goal of this challenge is to promote the next generation of horse trainers as well as showcase the Quarter Horses that Rocking Heart Ranch breeds. At the challenge, all trainers will be given an allotted time to complete a pattern which will includes elements such as saddling, picking up feet, moving at different gaits, trailer loading, moving through a gate, and a few surprises to showcase the trust the horse has in its trainer as well as the versatility of the horse. In addition, each trainer will be given a 3 minute portion to complete a freestyle element meant to WOW the judges and the attendees. Cash prizes for the Colt Challenge are $1500, $1000, and $500 and $500, $300, $150 for the Wow Factor. All horses are sold in a sale after the challenge which includes the challenge horses plus a few others that have been trained by previous Challenge Champions and from our herd. The auction is ran by Perlich Brothers Auctions out of Lethbridge and will also be live streamed.
