What to Expect in the Clinic?In a 3 day colt starting clinic with Bruce we will work on safe and effective ground work techniques that get the colts thinking rather than reactive. We will prepare the colts to be saddled for the first time. How to mount and dismount safely. How to approach obstacles from the horses perspective. Each day will depend on the colts in the clinic and the advancement that is made each day. Everyone should be prepared to ride their colts for the first time.

Biography Bruce Christie Horses is located just North of Cowley, Alberta in the beautiful foothills of Southwestern Alberta. There, Bruce and his wife Stacey operate a fulltime colt starting business and maintain a busy clinic schedule.
Bruce has worked with and started horses for well over 35 years. Horses have always been an integral part of Bruce’s life, from his beginnings on his Grandfather’s ranch, to an accomplished rodeo career tie down roping and team roping and now a successful colt starting and clinician business. After his rodeo career, Bruce spent several years working on different ranches and as Bruce likes to say, “I’ve learned through the seat of my pants.” Over time he has acquired a wealth of knowledge from the horses and has taken every opportunity to ride and spend time with incredible horsemen and horsewomen. ll of these experiences have led Bruce to an understanding and appreciation of what it takes to start a young horse and set a foundation that they will have for life. |
